Issue Position: Health Care

Issue Position

Folks, Obamacare cannot and will not fix our national health care problems.

It is designed for one thing and one thing only, and that's to destroy Medicare and bleed the middle class, seniors and productive companies dry of any tiny disposable income they may salvage in the ongoing economic Depression. While Mr. Obama's and his wife's Wall St. health insurance buddies live it up off our backs.

To make it all work, our badly flawed Supreme Court established an ideological precedent so grotesque in scope it rivals any Orwellian plotline.

Yes folks, we are now REQUIRED to buy a private company's product, or have money stolen directly from our pockets as "penalty."

But that's not the end of the crazy. Once we purchase this private product, we must pay taxes on it, as if it were a form of income!

Congress, needless to say, exempted itself from these requirements.

There is no way the revenue exists to fund increasingly expensive insurance policies for everybody who wants them. The math simply does not work. Existing policy rates across the board are already skyrocketing; along with deductible and co-pay costs. This is bleeding the few middle class working people who are still clinging to their policies dry. Others are seeing existing policies cancelled, with new, worse ones offered instead.

We are being screwed.

As time goes by, Medicare will be raided to cover ever-increasing costs, until it has been sucked dry. Then nobody will have insurance, and the locusts in charge will move on to something else to scam us out of. Maybe our water supplies…or newly tolled roads…or the air we breathe?
Obamacare must go. We can start at the legislative level by revoking and defunding the law itself. At some point down the road, we will as a nation have to deal with the Constitutional problem created by the Supreme Court decision.

Changes that benefit the public, like the requirement that nobody can be turned away for preexisting conditions; or that kids can stay on their parents' policies until 27 can be incorporated into new legislation.

To improve competition, we should immediately remove interstate commerce barriers to insurance policy sales. Obamacare claims this will happen -- but contains so many conditions and loopholes that compliance is unlikely.

We also need new legislation that will improve competition by allowing individuals and companies to pool money and buy group policies.

And it's time to open Medicare to anybody who wants to buy in. During reform negotiations, Mr. Obama took this option off the table immediately. Hillary Clinton was cheering him on. Why? Who are they working for? Who wants Medicare destroyed? It's certainly not We the People.

Finally, Congress must be subject to the same health care laws as the people they purport to represent. Something our current House "representative" Jeff Miller has actively avoided. Why?
As your representative in Washington, I will fight tirelessly for a competitive insurance market. Please help me make that happen. You want a voice -- you have a choice. Please vote John Krause for U.S. Congress next year.
